Create a Plan - One of the best things you can do to ensure you’re ready to move quickly is to create a plan for how you’re going to efficiently pack everything. For example, you might want to start with packing all non-essentials. Or you can tackle everything room by room.
When you make a plan, make sure you map how long you think it’ll take to complete each room or area -and always give yourself some extra time! This way, you’ll know when you need to start and how quickly you need to work to get things done on time.
Get the Equipment Ready - If you want to move quickly, you need to be prepared. That includes getting the essentials ready for when you actually start packing.
The last thing you want to do in week one of your plan is to rush around the shops to buy everything you need to help you get started.
Instead, do your shopping as early as possible to make sure you’ve got all the essentials, including things like:
- Boxes of all different sizes. It’s better to overestimate how many you need rather than underestimate!
- Packaging tape - lots of it!
